On Thursday 11th March at the 2021 NatWest EWiF Awards event, Gemma Green of it’seeze Web Design Knutsford beat the competition to claim the coveted Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWiF) award for 'New Woman Franchisee of The Year 2021', sponsored by NatWest.
Along with her business partner, Mike, Gemma has worked hard to grow the Cheshire web design business over the past 12 months. Starting a new business just as the country went into the first national lockdown gave them the drive to focus on what they wanted to achieve. Through determination and enthusiasm for the business they managed to beat numerous sales records across the franchise network.

Their work has not gone unnoticed, as it’seeze Web Design Knutsford have been recognised by the franchise industry for their dedication, ambition, and ability to inspire others. Several other inspirational industry leaders were nominated for the 'New Woman Franchisee of The Year 2021' award but Gemma Green shone above the finalists to claim this prestigious award.

Every year, EWiF holds an annual awards ceremony designed to celebrate the achievements of women in franchising. This year, the awards took place online, bringing together over 150 franchise professionals in celebration of the successes of women across the UK, in an industry which has been very much dominated by men.

Gemma believes that the secret to their success is a mixture of under-promising and over-delivering, as well as an ongoing enthusiasm and determination to provide the best web design service across Cheshire.

“The rise in the number of women who are breaking into franchising, and carving out their own businesses in this industry, is such a joy to see! We have been encouraging women to consider franchising as a route for business success since 2008, and are honoured to be able to award Gemma Green of it'seeze Knutsford for her contribution to franchising. She is a very worthy winner!” - Helen Mansfield, Managing Director of EWiF
EWiF is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers, providing advice and guidance to anyone looking to break into the franchise industry. Their remit is threefold: to encourage women to consider buying a franchise, to encourage businesswomen to franchise their existing operations and to help franchisors attract more women to their network. EWiF focuses their time and energy on supporting women who are looking for a route into the franchise industry. With regional meetings, an annual awards ceremony, annual conferences and much more taking place for their members, EWiF has become a valuable community and source of information for so many people.
